ASTM standard A240 series stainless steel coils some introduction and uses

302 stainless steel: has high corrosion resistance and tensile strength, commonly used in wire products, springs and fasteners.

303 stainless steel: adds sulfur to improve machinability, ideal for precision machining and fastener applications.

304 stainless steel: the most widely used stainless steel, with excellent corrosion resistance and forming characteristics, suitable for kitchen equipment, chemical containers and construction applications.

ASTM 302 Stainless Steel Coil
