ASTM A242 corten steel plate

Corten Steel Plate or ASTM A242 steel plate, it is one kind of high strength low alloy steel, we also call it weathering resistant steel plate especially used for bridges. Corten steel is an atmospheric corrosion resistant steel that is available in both sheet and panel varieties. Corten steel panels and sheet products don't need any paint. Instead of painting, the corten steel covered with its reddish-brown, rust-like appearance that increases when exposed to atmospheric corrosion.

Under the A242 corten steel plate specification, there are two grades:

• Type 1- Type 1 is the more widely used for Structure Steel grade
• Type 2-Type 2 is well-suited for various processes, including cutting, forming, drilling, machining, and grinding.
