Precautions for bending steel plate

1. If the plate to be processed is thicker, the required bending force of the steel plate is greater. The thicker the plate to be processed, the greater the bending force margin needs to be further increased when selecting steel plate bending equipment. It should be noted that the thermal conductivity of stainless steel is lower than that of ordinary low-Carbon steel, and the elongation is low, and the greater the deformation force required.

2. The greater the yield strength of the mechanical properties of the processed steel plate material, the greater the elastic recovery force, and the smaller the required pressing angle, so that the angle of the bent steel structure parts can be 90 degrees. The elastic recovery deformation of austenitic stainless steel during bending is greater than that of carbon steel, so the pressing angle is smaller than that of carbon steel.

3. According to the mechanical properties of steel plates, the tensile strength is large, the elongation is small, the required bending force is large, the bending angle is large, and the bending angle of 904L stainless steel plates with the same plate thickness as carbon steel is large. Otherwise, bending cracks will appear, affecting the strength of the workpiece.

4. Sometimes it is necessary to determine how to process and bend the steel plate according to the drawings provided by the customer. In the case of corresponding plate thickness and bending radius of the design drawing, the unfolding size of a bent workpiece is the positive and negative plate thickness on the right angle side, which is sufficient to meet the design accuracy requirements. Calculating the unfolding amount according to the empirical formula can simplify the calculation process.
