What is
Steel Plate welding? As the name implies, steel plate welding is mainly to firmly connect two or more steel plates together by welding to form the required steel structure or steel structure parts. This is a key process in manufacturing and construction.
Steel plates can be welded to ensure the strength, sealing and durability between welded steel plates. The more common welding methods for steel plate processing and welding in factories include arc welding, gas shielded welding, laser welding and resistance welding. Arc welding uses the high temperature of the arc to melt the steel plate and form a joint, which is often used for thick plates and heavy structures.
(1) Gas shielded welding (such as MIG and TIG welding) uses inert gas to protect the welding area and prevent steel plate oxidation. It is suitable for thin plates and high-precision welding.
(2) Laser welding uses the high energy of the laser beam for welding, which has high precision and small heat impact, and is suitable for precision manufacturing.

Weldability of low alloy structural steel
Low alloy steel has a common characteristic when welding, that is, the weld and heat affected zone of the steel plate have different degrees of hardening tendency and are highly sensitive to hydrogen. If the welding stress is large, the weld joint is prone to cracking.
(1) First, the hardening tendency of the weld and heat-affected zone. As the strength grade of the steel plate increases, the carbon and alloying element content in the steel increases, and the hardening tendency of the weld and heat-affected zone increases.
(2) Next is the cold crack of the weld joint, but the cold crack of the weld joint mainly occurs in thick plate materials with higher strength levels.
(3) Finally, there is hot cracking. The possibility of hot cracking in welding is much smaller than that of cold cracking. It is only possible when the chemical composition of the raw materials does not meet the specifications (such as high content of S and C).
