ASTM A656 High-strength Low Alloy Steel Plate

ASTM A656 high-strength low alloy steel plate or ASTM A656 Steel Plate is a kind of Hot Rolled Steel Plate. We also call it ASTM A653 sturture steel, A653 steel is divided into five grades: Grade50/60/70/80/100.

ASTM A656 50,60,70,80 grades are a type of high strength low alloy (HSLA) hot rolled steel plate. High Strength Low Alloy Plate A656 low alloy steel plate has better formability, weldability, notch toughness and corrosion resistance when compared to Carbon steel plates. Low alloy steel plates are often used in structural applications that require strength to weight ratio and the ability to be easily welded and formed. These desirable properties of the steel plate are achieved through selected chemical composition and controlled mill processing. Since A656 80 grade is stronger than mild steel, it can provide high strength in thinner sections at lower weight. These properties make it an ideal choice for demanding structural applications such as construction equipment, crane booms, truck frames and mining machinery and equipment manufacturing.
