The theoretical weight of I-beam structural steel is calculated based on the cross-sectional dimensions and steel density (usually 7850 kg/m³). The theoretical weight is consistent for different grades of the same size (e.g. S235JR, S275JR, etc.).
Weight differences are primarily related to cross-sectional dimensions, while differences in chemical composition and mechanical properties between grades do not significantly affect theoretical weight.
